・Since the incense is made to the size of noble incense sticks, incense sticks of different lengths or thicknesses may not fit. We recommend incense sticks of approximately 8cm in length and 2mm in thickness.
・As this is made of glass, please handle it with care.

The manufacturing process of incense holders

Each piece is carefully crafted in a glass workshop in Gifu Prefecture. Because they are handmade, they cannot be mass-produced, and no two pieces are exactly alike. Please take a look at the manufacturing process.

1. Roll up the glass

The molten glass, which is about 1,270°C, is taken out by winding it onto a rod.

2. Wrap another layer of glass around it

By wrapping another layer of glass around it, you can create some air bubbles when it's finished.

3. Shape it into an incense holder

This is an important step in determining the shape of the incense holder. While still hot, the holder is carefully shaped by placing wet newspaper over it.

4. Drilling holes in the incense holder

The holes for the incense are carefully drilled. This is an important step that determines the angle, depth, and comfort of the incense.

5. Cut it off from the rod

Carefully separate the shaped glass from the rod.

6. Let it sit overnight

Let it sit overnight to lower the temperature. Even after one night, it will still be over 100°C.

7. Polish the surface

The contact surface is carefully polished and finished to a perfect finish without any rattles.
